Metric thread is less refined compared to UNF thread and more subjected to wear. In general the thread terminal on the wire side is right-handed, thereby left-handed thread is the exception.

The Failsafe Hi Mod - Petersen Stainless Insulators
Hi-MOD Insulator
The Failsafe Hi Mod - Petersen Stainless Insulators are engineered with an internal ball-socket in the main body that threads onto the connecting end fitting. The nut is insulated from the stainless steel body by a Tufnol socket preventing electrical transference to the insulator body or opposite terminal. Available in various configurations.
