4:1 vang purchase system with Seldén blocks and Cruiser XTS

The clever purchase system 4:1 for a vang or kicker is suitable for small to medium sized sailboats of 8m to 11m length. Built with Cruiser XTS rope which is spliced to Seldén block it forms a set matching the Rodkickers #5 and #10. We use ø8mm modern polyester rope from Premiumropes’ Cruiser XTS in length of 9,0m together with fiddle blocks, which have Ø50mm sheaves on plain bearings. The lower fiddle block has a cam cleat to hold the vang sheet in position. The rope comes already spliced to the becket of the lower block and placed around the sheaves, making it ready-to-use for your sailboat.
Designed to work with original Seldén Rodkickers it has a shackle to attach the purchase system to the 2:1 wire rope of the kicker. The wire rope doubles your pulling power, making a cascade which results in total purchase of 8:1!The purchase system is available from stock at Premiumropes Amsterdam and can be shipped quickly to your home or a place of your convenience.

Is there also a vang purchase system controlled from the cockpit?

That is not a problem. On many boats the vang is trimmed from the cockpit. The line is most often diverted to a clutch near the cabin opening. However, the block needed for such a system can vary from boat to boat. We will be happy to help you select the right blocks. Is this vang purchase also suitable for racing boats?

On many racing yachts, the vang is actively used to trim the mainsail. Even under high loads, it is important to make the vang easy to operate.
