Thimbles
A stainless steel thimble can be added to an eye-splice for protection of a rope. We have thimbles with a closed and an open eye. The open thimbles can be used for ropes with a core of polyester. We often splice this thimble in our Dockline and fix the mooring line to the home berth with a D-shackle. When using a rope with a core of high-tech fibres, such as Dyneema® or Stirotex, use a closed thimble. The load applied on these ropes could 'crush' a regular open thimble.
If you want us to splice a stainless steel thimble in your rope, add it to the cart with the halyard or mooring rope.
